The Exhibition
We will be holding public exhibitions as part of the consultation process where you will be able to find out about climate change and the energy crisis and how it will continue to affect our country. We will be displaying our plans for the windfarm and will be on hand to answer any queries you may have.
We will also be raising money for local charities. Feedback forms will be available for you to give us your views. We look forward to meeting you.
We shall be holding public exhibitions to enable you to find out more about our plans on the following dates:-
- Thursday 27th March at Lingen Village Hall-4pm to 8pm.
- Friday 28th March at Knighton Community Centre-2pm to 8pm.
- Saturday 29th March at Presteigne Assembly Rooms-10am to 4pm
Lighting the way
To celebrate our new project and to help you to help us in the fight against climate change, we are offering free energy efficient light bulbs at the exhibition. All the light bulbs are 11w energy efficient bulbs with a bayonet fitting which produce about the same output as a standard 60w bulb.
A quotation from http://www.direct.gov.uk/ shows how effective this can be:
"Choosing energy-saving light bulbs is one of the easiest ways of cutting your energy use. If every household in Britain replaced just three normal bulbs with energy savers, enough energy could be saved to run all the country's street lighting."

If you would like to write to the council in support of our plans, here are some points you could include in your letter:
- The project will supply enough clean energy for thousands of homes
- Any effects on local landscape will be comparatively temporary and insignificant compared to the changes climate change will make
- The community fund of £40,000 per annum will provide valuable services to the local community - that could be up to £1,000,000 over the life of the wind farm.
- What is the council doing to help achieve the country's targets of 10% of electrical energy to come from renewable sources by 2010 and 20% by 2020?
- There is the opportunity for local people to become owners of one of the turbines
- Thousands of tons of carbon dioxide emissions will be saved every year - we know burning coal, oil and the like is leading to long term changes in our weather that could be costly and harmful
- I urge the council to take positive decisions that will help minimise climate change and protect the world's environment from harmful change.
